Health Care Partners of South Carolina is proud to welcome Paige Young, APRN, to our Family Medicine team at the Conway location (1608 N. Main St.) — and she is now accepting new patients.

Born and raised in Aynor, Paige brings a true hometown warmth to her care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Francis Marion University in 2019 and went on to complete her Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) degree in 2022, building a strong foundation in both clinical knowledge and compassionate patient care.

Paige began her career in the Intensive Care Unit at McLeod Hospital in Florence, where she served for three years — including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Her ICU experience shaped her ability to manage complex cases, think critically under pressure, and provide steady, reassuring care during some of healthcare’s most challenging moments.

For the past 2.5 years, Paige has flourished in primary care, focusing on preventive health, chronic disease management, patient education, and building long-term relationships with the individuals and families she serves. Her approach is rooted in listening, understanding, and partnering with patients to help them feel their best at every stage of life.

Outside the exam room, Paige enjoys time with her husband, Brett, and their baby girl, Elizabeth. Whether at home or with extended family, she values the balance between her calling as a provider and the joy of motherhood.

We are thrilled to have Paige join the HCPSC family and serve the Conway community with excellence, empathy, and high-quality care.

Health Care Partners of South Carolina (HCPSC) visited two local schools in the Conway area to help students start the 2025–2026 school year prepared and confident. Led by Santina Mayo, CEO of HCPSC, members of our outreach team stopped by Conway High School and Waccamaw High School to distribute 90+ clear bookbags to students.

“Every student deserves to feel seen, supported, and ready to learn,” said Santina Mayo, CEO of HCPSC. “A simple bookbag can remove a barrier and send a message: your community believes in you. We’re honored to partner with our local schools and invest in our future right here at home.”

Back-to-school essentials can add up for families. Providing school-approved bookbags at no cost helps students show up ready—putting Health With Heart into action in our hometowns.

This effort is part of HCPSC’s ongoing commitment to the communities we serve. In recent years, our team has supported back-to-school initiatives across multiple districts with supplies, health education, screenings, and community events. We believe in our students—and in the power of local partnerships to help them thrive.

For more than 46 years, Health Care Partners of South Carolina (HCPSC) has served our communities with a steadfast commitment to providing exceptional, compassionate care. Today, we’re proud to announce the unveiling of our new logo and visual identity — a fresh design that reflects both our legacy and our vision for the future.

The Story Behind the New Look

At the heart of our new logo is a heart symbol, representing compassion, empathy, and the deep connection between provider and patient. Woven into this heart are soft, flowing waves, symbolizing the fluid and ongoing nature of healing. These curves represent the adaptability and responsiveness of our care, always attuned to the unique needs of each patient.

“The new design reflects who we are — a community of caregivers dedicated to compassion, connection, and quality care,” said Santina Mayo, CEO of HCPSC. “Our mission hasn’t changed. This is simply a new way of expressing the values we’ve held since day one.”

Health with Heart

The tagline, “Health with Heart”, captures our promise to approach every patient with respect, compassion, and strength. The colors, shapes, and flow of our logo are a visual reflection of that promise — and of our whole-person approach to wellness, where body, mind, and spirit are interconnected in the healing journey.

Looking to the Future

This rebrand comes ahead of an exciting milestone: the construction of our new 50,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility in Conway, SC, set to open in Fall 2026. This expansion will allow us to provide even more services and support to the communities we serve.

While our look has evolved, our mission remains the same — to deliver quality, compassionate care to every person who walks through our doors. We invite you to join us in celebrating this exciting new chapter.

See Clearly: Cataract Awareness Month 2025 with Health Care Partners of South Carolina

June is Cataract Awareness Month. It’s the right time to talk about vision health. Cataracts are one of the leading causes of vision loss in the U.S. They affect millions — especially older adults.

At Health Care Partners of South Carolina, we’re here to help our community see clearly. Our team provides affordable, expert eye care close to home.

What Are Cataracts?

A cataract is a clouding of the eye’s natural lens. It can happen in one or both eyes. Cataracts often develop slowly and may not cause problems at first.

Common signs include:

  • Blurry vision

  • Trouble seeing at night

  • Glare or halos around lights

  • Colors looking faded

  • Double vision in one eye

Who Is at Risk?

Anyone can get cataracts. But some people are more likely to develop them.

Risk factors include:

  • Age 60 and older

  • Diabetes

  • Smoking

  • Too much sun exposure

  • Family history

  • Certain medications

If you have any of these risks, a yearly eye exam is a smart move.

Cataracts Can Be Treated

The good news? Cataracts can be removed with surgery. It’s one of the most common and successful procedures in healthcare today. Most people recover quickly and see clearly again.

Early detection makes a big difference. That’s why regular exams matter.

Services include:

  • Prescription glasses

  • Medicaid and Medicare options

We keep care local, affordable, and focused on you.

Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week | May 5–11, 2025

Every day, millions of moms silently battle anxiety, depression, and emotional stress. During Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week, we stand with them — listening, learning, and doing more to ensure no mother feels alone or unseen.

Why This Week Matters

1 in 5 women experience a maternal mental health condition during or after pregnancy. These aren’t rare. They aren’t signs of weakness. And they shouldn’t be taboo. Yet many mothers go undiagnosed or untreated due to stigma, lack of access, or simply not knowing where to turn.

This week, HRSA and healthcare providers across the country are amplifying a clear message: maternal mental health is essential health.

What We’re Doing

At Health Care Partners of South Carolina, we’re committed to supporting moms at every stage — from prenatal visits to postpartum care and beyond. Our OBGYN team, located at 243 Singleton Ridge Rd, Conway, SC 29526, provides safe, supportive care for mothers experiencing mental health challenges before, during, and after pregnancy.

We screen for postpartum depression, offer referrals for counseling, and walk beside mothers who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, or overwhelm. If you need to talk, we’re here. You can reach us directly at 843-248-4700.

National & Local Resources

If you or someone you love is struggling, you don’t have to go through it alone. Help is available — and it’s just a phone call or text away:

How You Can Help

  • Check in with the moms in your life. A simple “how are you really doing?” goes a long way.
  • Share resources — many moms don’t know what’s out there.
  • Speak openly about maternal mental health. The more we talk about it, the more we normalize it.

Let’s Keep the Conversation Going

Maternal mental health isn’t just a one-week focus — it’s a year-round commitment. Let’s break the silence, reduce the stigma, and stand with moms every step of the way.
